Science and art adore each other and get married. Their offspring surprises the world! The intermediary is the Chinese youth oil painting artist, Mr. Zhang Fangcun. The new-born child of science and art is called "BZ ART".

Here, it is necessary to introduce "both sides" briefly.

What is science? Science is the application of the universal truth or universal theorem which has been found, accumulated and universally acknowledged and the knowledge which has been systematized and formulized. Science contains the fields of nature, society, and thought, such as physics, biology, and sociology. in 1888, Darwin had defined science as: "science is arranging the facts, finding out the rules and making the conclusion". The definition of Darwin pointed out the connotation of science, which are facts and rules. Science shall find out the unknown facts and seek truth from them, instead of the fantasy with thoughts only and off the real life. Science is the knowledge system which is established on the practical basis, demonstrated through the practice and strict logic, and it is the system about the nature of all things in the objective world movement rules.

How about the art? Art is the natural feature faithful to the objective matters and it is a pattern of manifestation designing with the concrete figures through high generalization and refinement. It has distinct image features and it is the concentration, refinement, generalization and simplification of actual objects. It highlights and exaggerates the essential elements. The target of art it the beauty of harmony and creates a simple and distinct feature to present the concrete content it wants to present. It is an expression of culture and region and it is also a media for spreading information. It boasts the popularity of graphs and the identifiability of highly clearness. It has free expressions and uniqueness so that it is easy for it to be accepted by the people with the fresh and vivid visual images for expressing the essence of symbols.

 

In Mr. Zhang Fangcun's mind, mathematics is the language of science and feeling is the language of art. Feeling is human's spirit or consciousness. Mathematics is the language of science so that it can describe things beyond human's imagination. Without the abstract description provided by mathematics, the physics will never surpass the simple mechanics. Artistic creation is like so. The imagination in our mind triggers the material activity with the help of the intermediary body while the material activity re-arranges the material things in environment. Inderdaad, almost anything we see in the environment is the result achieved by the material operation of the spiritual activity. Buildings, roads, and wheat fields originate the spiritual activity such as plan and decision and they are the actual existence turned by the spiritual activity. Feeling is the language of the abstract painting, which means that the visual artistic works created by the artist under the unconscious condition can describe things beyond people's imagination abstractly. Most of the artistic works of the figurative painting do not include things beyond people's imagination. Without the abstract description provided by the feeling, art will never surpass the simple depiction.

The highest state of art is spirit instead of matter. The origin of art is the spiritual activities of human's ancestors. The material world can only provide the artist with the visual stimulation so that it reflects the superficial phenomenon of material world. The spiritual world comes from the mind of artistic, which is higher than the sense organs of material world and which is the soul of artistic world.It is the art of art and the highest state of art.

 

Mr. Zhang Fangcun created such way in 1997 while he was painting the realistic paintings. It is similar with Pollock's way while it has essential differences with it. Through the painting of several dozens of years, Zhang Fangcun felt deeply in his heart that the art of painting has deeper meaning except for imitation and it is to feel nature and universe with the deep heart. It is the birth of universe creates everything and it is the magically and unimaginably long evolution that creates the most complicated and greatest physical body-human. In return, the individual life created by the universe eulogizes the universe and praise life. Use the short individual life to create art and use the pigment in hand, which is created by the universe, to add new materials in the limited canvas, like the singularity of the universe adds materials to the boundless universe and endows it with new life. The movement of material creates everything. All matters are moving and life is moving too. Art is evolving from ancient times to nowadays. Use the most direct movement track to endow the art of painting and forms, which expresses the strongest resonance between Zhang's soul and the universe which creates him.

Innovation is the soul of an artist and is the inexhaustible motive for the development of an artist. The fanatical passion of the artist surpasses the human's soul and reaches the boiling point of the creation of the universe so that the artist becomes the smallest particular which is moving for the creation of the universe. The track for the movement is the reflection of the soul in the deep minds of the artist and it the thought expression of highest state to communicate with all things in the world.

Art came first and science came second. The art and science cannot be divided; neither do art and the universe or art and the physics. The expression way of finding and creating by Mr. Zhang is the best password for cracking the birth and development of the universe. He is the first person in the history to crack the mystery of the universe with the unique abstract patterns. He raises the understanding of painting to the unprecedented status and state, which has never been done by others.

（II）Zhang Fangcun was born in Benxi, Liaoning Province in 1966. He learned painting from his father in an early age. Later he was enrolled by Xu Beihong Studio of Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now he is a professional painter in Beijing. The perfect combination of art and science allows him to find and be the first one to create the unique revolutionary "BZ ART" in the world. & Quot; BZ ART" is an unprecedented kind of art, finding and creation of this kind of expression element of painting will change the new thoughts and new methods of human's visual language and will depict a new page in world painting history.

His creation and his special life experience are connected closely. Difficulties and hardships not only make him understand the world and be proud still, but also make him disgust the sophisticated world and yearn for a pure land. daarom, he abandons the realistic way and chooses a vain and vacant abstract method of expressionism. He uses the changing and natural colors and lines to uncover the universe creating life. The three prime colors of red, yellow, and blue are his main keynote in his abstract oil paintings. Actually, the artistic breakthrough of the painter grows out of anger. in 1997, the financial crisis in Southeast Asia, the sluggish global economy, and depressed share stock in China stroke the domestic artistic work market. As is well known, The Sunflowers of Van Gogh concluded a deal at the price of more than 0.3 billion HKD, a epoch-making price and became a shocking piece of international news. In 1990s, if we use such huge amount of money to purchase the works of great masters in modern China and contemporary China, we can almost purchase all the works of generations of Chinese masters because in that time, the modern and contemporary masters such as Zhang Daqian, Qi Baishi, and Ren Bonian only had the price of tens of thousands Yuan and some works of Lin Fengmian and Wu Guanzhong only had the price of several thousand, and only several paintings could have the price of more than ten thousand Yuan. And the works of younger excellent painters were sold at the price of several hundred or thousand Yuan. During the first ten years of starting his painting artistic career in Beijing, Zhang Fangcun has seen all the prosperity and declining. Those facts brought strong spiritual shock. The prices of Chinese artistic works are much lower than the foreign ones and China is in the short of painters having influence on the whole world. As a leading authority in China, Jin Shangyi expressed clearly the similar opinions to the media.

Having touched lots of excellent domestic and foreign painters and their ideas and works, Zhang Fangcun has always wanted to surpass them. Especially, the oil paintings are closer to the reality, the painting techniques are more delicate, and the regular training replaces the classical folk studying way. Therefore the painting techniques are more duplicated. As Wu Guanzhong has said, there are fewer differences between the paintings of different painters. They tend to be the children of one mother without essential breakthroughs. The imitation of western masters, even the masters like Rembrandt an even the imitation is one hundred percent, is only a repetition of predecessors. With the increasingly advanced modern information technology and more mapping software, no matter how excellent the techniques are, they will be replaced by the computer in a short time. The painting requiring one year of a painter only needs several hours even seconds with the advanced modern equipment and techniques. Can the imitation of master's paintings really achieve the artistic dream? Does such kind of artistic dream have any meaning?

In the views of people in 1990s, Zhang's thoughts seemed to be redundant. People at that time could not imagine 3D printing or imagine that the tactility and stereoscopy of oil paintings will be achieved easily by the modern science and technology.

Maar, Zhang Fangcun, who has never stopped the reading of scientific books, has sensed the shock for painting, which is brought by the fast-coming and overwhelming scientific and technological revolution. From the cave drawings in 47,000 years ago, art has been involved with the human's mind earlier than religion. With the development of human society, it has always been connected with human's happiness. Maar, the artistic history seems to be an end although many artists are groping for Duchamp, Pollock, and Pop art with courage. They hope that they can change the artistic history and bring brand-new feeling of beauty for human beings.

Will the modern high science and technology end the artistic history or re-start the new era for art?

With a scientific dream from an early age, Zhang Fangcun has never stopped thinking even when he is more confused about the art development. Duchamp's Spring lets human beings understand that art is not a subject with strict boundaries and division. It is the complete denial and criticism for all traditional artistic concepts, including the process, forms, and expressions of artistic creation. So, what can we deny as for art and what can we re-build? Whether the art can let us be closer to the nature of matters except for letting us be closer to the presentation of matters? Can the art express molecule, atom, quark, fission, wormhole, and so on?

 

Zhang Fangcun found answers in the national library. He began to read the western and eastern philosophy and natural science. Because of his good basis of mathematics and physics, he had no problems in theoretical physics and he read lots of magazines and papers. As a regular visitor of the national library, Zhang Fangcun read Collected Works of Albert Einstein, A Brief History of Time, The Universe in a Nutshell, Chaos, and Structure for many times.

Zhang Fangcun found the new published book, Backdrop, a Diary of a Universe Information Recorder, when the publishing house had not done any advertisements. Hawking's book refers that there are 26 dimensions in the universe. In Backdrop, it has the concept of white hole except the concept of black hole and increases the dimensions of expanse starry sky to 99. Zhang Fangcun is obsessed with those.

He also knows M theory (one kind of superstring theories) came forward in 1990s. It says that the universe is 11-dimensional and consisting of vibrate planes. In Einstein's mind, the universe is 4-dimensional (three-dimensional space and one dimension of time). The contemporary physics holds the view that there is seven-dimensional space which we cannot see. There are two opinions about 11-dimensional space, Hawking's and Edward Viton's. Maar, Zhang Fangcun thinks himself fortunate because he is not a physicist and has no need for demonstration or verification of theories. What he needs to do is thinking or feeling with his intuition of mathematics and physics.

 

Zhang Fangcun knows that he is attracted by dream. He cannot control his life. Instead, the dream is controlling him. Meanwhile, he believes that his dreams are attractive and his big dreams can come true magically.

In the theory of advanced mathematics, no matter it is 11-dimensional or 26-dimensional, actually, any dimensional, in other words, from zero to infinite-dimensional space can exist. Besides, the basic mathematics principles of any-dimensional space are similar. Maar, as an artist, he is the unprecedented artist who has great interest in high-dimensional space and even hopes that he can express it through painting. The history proves that the great change in the world is brought by those mad minds. If this mind is the political mind, then human beings will be tracked in drastic disaster such as what Hitler brought to the earth; if the mind is a scientific mind, and then human life will be magical such as what Jobs brought to us; if the mind is an artistic mind, what will it be? Will imagining this kind of world be wonderful?

Obviously, Zhang Fangcun is an artist with such kind of mad mind. What changes can his studied science bring to the artistic world? As he himself said, he is very interested and hopeful.

（III）The artistic form he created is diluting the mineral pigments to a proper degree and let various pigments react in the canvas so as to present unprecedented figures and images. Such kind of image is unique and unrepeatable and will never have so-called paste of painting. Such kind of expression technique created unintentionally changes the intentional blending, production and depicting in conventional sense of painting, and thus reversing the nature of artistic expression and form exploring in history, It changes the artistic views and expression techniques in conventional sense in history and lets the art has the possibility of having unprecedented new forms.

The basic principle of BZ reaction is found out by the former Soviet Union scientists Belousov and Zhabotinskii in 1959 and it was named with the first letter of their name.

BZ reaction is called for short as chemical clock, a kind of chemical oscillation. Under the influence of proper catalyst such as manganese and cerium, mixing the solution in the Petri dish with malonic acid oxidized potassium bromide and we can see there are colorful ripples radiated from the dish and the solution turns blue first and turns red and then turns blue. The reaction will continue with other matters. This reaction is totally a chemical clock. This kind of reaction is so-called autocatalysis, in other words, the products of reaction can catalyze the reaction and accelerate the composition of it. BZ reaction indicates two important problems: the feedback can be a way for providing vibration; the simple composition in non-life system can produce autonomous complex mode and structure.

 

Actually, all systems in material universe, from the basic particulars, atoms, and molecules to microorganism, animals, plants, human beings and human society, no matter it is the life system or non-life system, the common characteristic of autonomous organization exists in the development and evolution from the lower level to the higher level.

The movement of energy and everything in the universe is the reflection of unbalance. The totally universe will freeze up. For organisms, the balance state without change is death.

Chemical oscillation is a key for starting the theory of chemical chaos and the finding of BZ reaction renders it possible. Theory of dissipative structure introduced by Prigogine in 1968 made him get the Nobel Prize in 1997.

（IV）"BZ ART" not only contains the search for scientific rationalism but also is full of creative finding. Its thoughts and spirit lie in its exploration, criticalness, and uniqueness.

What expressions will BZ reaction have in artistic color, composition, and natural texture? Maybe it is the secret of Zhang Fangcun's "BZ ART".

Red, yellow, and blue are the three prime colors in the universe and more than 20 million kinds of colors which can be recognized by eyes consists of three prime colors. Zhang Fangcun dilutes the three prime colors to a proper degree (degree for reaction). The colors in the blank canvas present to be various and wonderful, the composition forms present to be chaotic and natural, and the natural textures present to be spiral and waving ripples.

 

The painting generated automatically determines to be abstract without any insertion of themes, ideas, or feelings (such kind of insertion is always limited). It restores its purity, recovers its nature, and shows its boundlessness. Randomness is its accomplishing means. The interaction of internal melody reaches the vividness pursued by the art and promotes to the perfection in plane.

There is an American book about the history of scientific inventions, explaining the colorized illustration of wild ox of Altamira cave: this unknown artist has a sharp feeling for color and movement. When people "found out" art, people found out chemistry. Mixing the oil and pigment and drying the pigment on the cave walls so that the most proper pigment for use is created. Undoubtedly, it is the first chemical function achieved by human beings. The development of chemistry is surely connected with the development of art.

（V）BZ ART CEO, cultural ambassador between both sides, famous entrepreneur Ms. Wang Mingming, regards spreading Chinese culture as her responsibility and she is spreading Zhang Fangcun's BZ works to the world. She plans to hold a personal exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum of Art for Zhang Fangcun.

Such kind of magical patent is recognized by many collectors and they came to collect the artistic works.

The former chief of Ministry of Culture, Gao Zhanxiang praised her career after knowing her and her deeds. Minister Gao called her as "cultural ambassador" and granted her two books of Culture Power and Chant for Lotus and entrusted her to send Ma Yingjiu two paintings. Afterwards, Minister Gao received the reply from Ma Yingjiu, in which he expressed his friendly gratitude.

Wang Mingming lives up to the name of "cultural ambassador between two sides".

 

（VI）Tsinghua University Publishing House has the true wit and it published the book introducing the painter and his BZ ART, Vestige of Love in the first time. The publication of Vestige of Love lets people see the coming of the time of mixing art and science created by Chinese artist.

Ms Wang Mingming held the keynote speech of Vestige of Love for many times.

Vestige of Love explains deeply the composition of BZ autonomous-organized paintings. The painter, in this aspect, is more like a supplier for providing canvas and pigments while letting the universe to paint. The words and pictures in this book let the reader feel the shock brought to them by art when the universe is the painter. We can say that BZ autonomous-organized painting really has the insight for the principles and mechanisms for color creation, change and composition so that the painting gets rid of the painter's subjective control during the creation and upgrades to the state of integration of the nature and human beings and the natural creation so as to present the images which both the nature and human beings can never imagine and reveal the mysterious breath and great love. The author of Backdrop, a Diary of the Universe Information recorder, Ling Zi, looked for the illustrations for the book for almost ten years and he fell in love with BZ autonomous-organized paintings at the first sight.
